e-academy Joins Forces with Prestariang for Malaysia National Laptop Program

Business Situation

Prestariang Systems, a Large Account Reseller (LAR) based in Malaysia, aims to train and certify learners to become professionals in the IT and technology sector. The company is known for aiding teachers with integrating technology into classrooms in order to give educators the necessary tools to prepare students for successful employment in the future.

The national laptop program in Malaysia needed a cost-effective and secure way to distribute Office 2010 Pro Plus along with their netbooks to over 120,000 K-12 students all over the country.

Solution

Prestariang partnered with e-academy Inc. to implement an Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) system to enable students to get the materials they need.  The e-academy ESD system:

• Distributed Office 2010 Pro Plus software bits to 7 authorized OEMs to preload the installation bits and activation instructions onto the netbooks.

• Distributed over 120K registration codes to Prestariang for further distribution to the national broadband distribution centers.

• Created a WebStore portal where students are able to download their product key to activate the preloaded  software on their netbooks, using registration codes as authentication.
